Medication

Anti-inflammatories or pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen are considered the most effective and quickest methods to get relieve from the throbbing headache. NSAIDS work by reducing the inflammation that causes headache and alleviates the pain However, one should avoid taking too much of anti-inflammatories as they can irritate your stomach lining and cause stomach ulcers. Remember, not to take acetaminophens and should be strictly avoided as they can lead to liver damage when combined with alcohol.

Drink fluids

Dehydration is one of the common contributing factors that leads to a hangover. This is due to two reasons. First, alcohol is a diuretic and thus, increases the production of urine, causing loss of water and electrolyte. Second, too much alcohol can lead to vomiting that further leads to the loss of fluids and salts. Therefore, drinking water in between alcohol drinks and before going to bed will make you feel less thirsty and help in easing the symptoms.

Get enough sleep

Even though alcohol can induce sleep, it also brings a lot of sleep disturbances and affects the quality of the sleep. One should have plenty of rest so that the effects of the hangover is lightened.

Eat food before drinking

Eating and filling your stomach before you throw in some alcohol can keep the blood-alcohol concentration in check while also maintaining the blood sugar level that is lowered when you drink alcohol. So, the carbs in your food will prevent you from feeling dizzy and fatigued.

Vitamin B6

According to a study, published over 30 years ago, people experienced fewer symptoms of hangover if they had a total of 1,200 milligrams of Vitamin B6 divided into 400 mg before your start drinking, 400 mg three hours later, and 400 mg at the end before you go to bed. You can try Alvizia's natural extracts and vitamins capsules before you pop in first drink to help ease your headache and prevent you from getting a worse hangover.

Avoid dark-colored alcoholic beverages

It is better to drink clear alcohols such as gin and vodka, that are low in congeners. Congeners are basically, toxic chemical compounds that are present in alcoholic beverages apart from alcohol and water. Dark colored drinks including, whiskey, red wine, bourbon and tequila contain higher content of congeners that cause a much severe hangover.
