The circulatory system is the interconnected system of the veins and the arteries that extend to every part of the body. These veins and arteries together form the circulatory system as the blood circulates through them in the entire body.
The circulatory system serves as a road through which all the nutrients are transported from one part of the body to another. Also, the waste products transport through the blood. This dense and complex network is hard to maintain but with the little tips and tricks, you can manage it all.
There are many problems related to the circulatory system which if understood properly can save you from various mishaps.
Atherosclerosis: Atherosclerosis is the hardening of the arteries. In this condition, the arteries become narrow and making it difficult for them to pump blood. Such conditions may induce the risk of heart attack and can even lead to strokes. Many other parts can get damaged if the artery connected to them gets blocked.
- Irregular heartbeat
- Difficulty in breathing
- Frequent pain in the chest
- Pain in the legs
- High blood pressure
- Kidney failure
Obesity, diabetes, and high cholesterol levels are the main causes of atherosclerosis.
Mitral Valve Regurgitation: In this condition, the blood which is supposed to go in a particular direction goes out of its way. This means that it starts to move somewhere else and leaves its designated path. The blood also starts to move backward and causes a problem. This backward movement of the blood deprives many organs of the body of the required quantity of blood and in such a situation, organ failure might happen.
This was the general explanation of the condition but what is the exact cause that led this disease gey such a name. The mitral present in the name is the name of a valve that is present in the heart. This valve is present between the atriums in the heart. The atriums are one of the four chambers that are present inside the heart. After the blood passes through the atrium it has to go to the ventricles to complete the process but when the mitral valve is damaged or so it is unable to close properly and the blood travels back to one of the atrium. This is not supposed to happen but when it does it is known as mitral valve regurgitation.
Endocarditis or any bacterial infection might be the cause of this condition.
Mitral Stenosis: this is somewhat the same condition as mentioned above but the only different thing is that in this case the reason for the dysfunctioning of the mitral valve is to know and is therefore assigned a term for that. In mitral stenosis the mitral valve becomes thin.
Cardiac Ischemia: This is a condition in which you might experience strong pain in the chest. This pain is very much similar to that of a heart attack but is not a heart attack. Even if the condition is not a heart attack, but then also is very severe. The pain that is felt is very severe. The condition and symptoms are the same as that of a heart attack and adequate precautions should be maintained.
You can go for some multivitamin capsules and can also include fish oil in your diet, which can prove to be effective. You can go for Alvizia’s salmon fish oil capsules and other triple and double oil capsules.
Peripheral Artery Disease: When some malfunctioning of the peripheral artery occurs it is known as peripheral artery disease. This artery carries blood to the legs, arms, and stomach. When the peripheral artery is clogged then the pain starts to appear in all the affected parts as they are not being supplied with blood.
This is also classified under the diseases that are related to the vascular system.
The weakness of the legs and pain in the hand and calf region are a few of the symptoms. Erectile dysfunction is a few of the common effects.
People that are already suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, hypertension are more likely to develop this disorder.
Venous Thromboembolism: The short form of this disease is VTE. This is the acronym given to address such a long name easily. People are unaware of this life-threatening disease that is VTE. In this condition, the clot starts to form very easily in the blood.
If you are aware of the term clotting then you might think that clotting is a thing that was considered to be good for the body but how come it has turned to be this dangerous. Let me address the topic from the very beginning. You are surviving despite all the major and tiny cuts and injuries that you have gone through because of the clotting of the blood. Whenever you get injured and start to bleed the blood starts to do its repairing work simultaneously. The dark reddish thing that appears on the site of injury is called the clot, but the problem arises when this clot starts to form inside the body. This clot prevents the blood flow from giving way to a major health hazard. There are majorly two main kinds of VTE:
Deep Vein Thrombosis: As the name suggest it occurs in the innermost parts of the body that is the legs and the arms.
Pulmonary Embolism: This is the much more advanced version of the above-mentioned disorders and a much dangerous condition as well. In this condition, the blood supply to the lungs is cut off and hence the lungs fail to receive the blood.
These were a few of the circulatory system related disorders. If you want to keep your circulatory system efficient then the best way to start is with the appropriate amount of exercise and movement of the body next you can cut the heavy fat intake that can form cholesterol and affect you badly.
