ECZEMA - Alvizia

ECZEMA - Alvizia

Eczema is a common skin condition, which makes it inflammatory. Skin becomes itchy, inflamed, and cracked in eczema. The most common type of eczema is Atopic dermatitis. Atopic means the person's propensity to catch allergic reactions like asthma and hay fever and the word dermatitis means inflammation of the skin. Alvizia's sea buckthorn oil capsules are very useful for eczema.

Apart from atopic dermatitis, eczema can come in other forms too. Every type of ema has its symptoms and causes. Eczema is common in children and infants but can be seen in teens and adults too. People get cured of eczema by treatment of the symptoms and by avoiding irritants. But eczema is not contagious, which means it can not be spread from one person to another person.

Some foods can trigger eczemas such as nuts and dairy. There are also environmental triggers like smoking, scents, soaps, and pollen. Most people outgrow eczema in children but some people continue to have its symptoms for their life.

The main symptoms of eczema include itchiness, roughness, dryness, inflammation, and irritation of the skin. They flare up, subside and flare up again and these flare-ups don't happen in the same area of the body. These symptoms depend on the age of the person suffering from eczema. Eczema is generally itchy and itchiness starts before the rash, no matter where patches appear on the skin.

Types of eczema

Several types of eczema are mentioned below:

Atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is the most common type of eczema. It is generally confused with eczema, though there are other types too.

Atopic dermatitis is a chronic type of eczema. Skin becomes itchy and dry along with the appearance of red rashes.

Atopic dermatitis is called atopic triad by doctors, in which triad means three. Asthma and hay fever are the other two diseases in the triad.

Symptoms of atopic dermatitis include: skin becomes lighter or darker or even thicker, small bumps can be seen and if being scratched liquid starts leaking, continued scratching can lead to infection, rashes appear in the creases of elbows and knees, and others.

Causes of atopic dermatitis include skin's vulnerability in front of irritants and allergens, genes or heredity, dryness of skin, weak immune system, skin's barrier against environment weakens, and others.

Contact dermatitis

Contact dermatitis is the skin becoming itchy and red due to the reaction of touching things.

There are two kinds of contact dermatitis. Allergic contact dermatitis is a skin reaction when the immune system is recognized as foreign like latex or metal. Irritant contact dermatitis occurs when a chemical leads to irritation of the skin.

Symptoms of contact dermatitis include skin itchiness, skin turning reddish, itchy bumps, fluid-filled blisters, thickening of the skin, scaly skin, and others.

Causes of contact dermatitis include: touching substances that irritate the skin and cause allergies like detergents, jewelry, latex, bleach, paint, nickel, soaps, perfumes, tobacco smoke, skincare products, solvents, and others.

Dyshidrotic eczema

Dyshidrotic eczema is more common in females than in males. In this type of eczema, blisters appear on the palms of hands and soles of the feet. Skin becomes irritated and it can not protect itself as it should.

Symptoms of dyshidrotic eczema include: fluid-filled blisters appear on toes, fingers, soles, palms which may itch and hurt, skin becomes scaly, cracky, and others.

Causes of dyshidrotic eczema include moist hands and feet, allergies, stress, few substances like nickel, cobalt, chromium salt, and others.

In hand eczema, hands are the affected area.

In jobs like hairdressers, cleaning, when chemicals are regularly used they tend to irritate the skin.

Symptoms of hand eczema include hands getting reddish, dried, itchy, the appearance of cracks or blisters, and others.

Causes of hand eczema include continuous exposure to chemicals of people working as cleaner, hairdresser, healthcare, indulged in the laundry.

Neurodermatitis is very similar to atopic dermatitis and it includes the appearance of scaly patches on the skin.

Some of the symptoms of neurodermatitis include the thickness of skin, patches appearing on arms, legs, scalp, soles of feet, back of neck and back of hands, itchiness in the patches, especially during sleep, scratching the patches leading to bleeding and chances of infection.

Causes of neurodermatitis include: if you have eczema already, or if you have stress, it may lead to neurodermatitis.

Nummular eczema

The word nummular here means coin in Latin. In this type of eczema, round, coin-shaped spots seem to appear on the skin.

A clear difference can be seen between nummular eczema and other eczema.

Symptoms of nummular eczema include the appearance of round, coin-shaped spots on the skin, itching in these spots, scaly skin, and others.

Causes of nummular eczema include reaction to an insect bite or the allergic reaction to metals or chemicals and others.
