Getting sleep of about seven to nine hours per night is recommended to enable the brain to operate at its best. Some of the techniques which can be applied to get the best sleep you can:

    • Going to bed and waking up at around the same time every day even on holidays. This method helps in regulating the body’s circadian rhythm, which in turn optimizes energy flow,  motivation, and appetite regulation in the body

    • Trying to minimize noise which in turn causes sleep disturbances
    • Reading relaxing literature can effectively calm the mind
    • Establishing a bedtime routine that includes various activities such as taking a warm shower, stretching, and drinking warm milk

As the health of the gut and the brain are interconnected, taking a balanced diet plays a pivotal role in managing the cognitive health of the body. Some of the triggers of inflammation include Gut-related and intestinal problems, such as leaky gut syndrome. These conditions can affect the optimal functioning of various organs mainly the brain. The presence of such disorders can also lead to various associated symptoms like depression, fatigue, anxiety, and lack of concentration and focus.

By ensuring that the brain gets a steady supply of essential nutrients such as proteins, healthy fats, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and other necessary vitamins and minerals to maintain the overall health of the body. The inclusion of these “brain foods” in the diet is effective in fighting the damage caused by free radicals and boost the body’s immune response to the pathogens. Consumption of vegetables, such as leafy greens, beets, broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, and fruits having rich content of compounds like bioflavonoids, carotenes, polyphenols, thiols, anthocyanins, and other vitamins and minerals help in fighting against free radical damage. It can also improve physical endurance and energy.
