The main function of antioxidants is to fight against the damage caused by the free radicals in the body which are mainly produced when various metabolic reactions occur such as the conversion of food into energy or the process of detoxification. Studies show that the consumption of ginkgo Biloba supplements helps in increasing the levels of antioxidants after rigorous physical activity.

Other effects of ginkgo Biloba extract include improving the capability of the free radical scavengers along with the capillary blood flow in elderly people.
