With advancing age, our body functions at a reduced pace which often leads to its gradual breakdown, and the risk of developing various symptoms, ailments, as well as diseases, also increase. Studies have shown that the intake of refined sugar, refined oils, gluten, foods that contain artificial ingredients, meats that are not processed properly, food allergens, junk foods, and other chemical-laden food products all contribute to the increase in the inflammation as they trigger oxidative stress in the body and increase the risk of developing various age-related health disorders. 

Imbalances in the blood sugar levels 

There has been an established connection between the formation of insulin resistance and the stimulation of inflammatory response in the body. Similarly, studies have concluded that a relation exists between inflammation, stress, and blood sugar levels. Imbalances in the blood sugar levels in diabetic patients have been associated with increasing the risk of developing obesity and metabolic disturbances thereby accelerating the onset of age-related diseases. 

Stress and improper sleep habits

The presence of any form of stress- be it physical, psychological, or emotional, is one of the most common contributors to inflammation and the development of health disorders in individuals with advancing age. With increased levels of stress in the body, a disruption in the homeostasis occurs which in turn stimulates inflammation which may also contribute to the development of various health conditions such as atherosclerosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, depression, and other disorders that can occur as a side effect of stress. 

Environmental toxins

One of the leading causes of inflammation includes various environmental toxins such as air pollution, water pollution, the presence of a wide variety of impurities in the tap water, ingesting of plastics in food products, the presence of various pesticides as well as herbicides, the presence of many artificial ingredients and chemicals in the food all have a huge impact in disrupting the normal homeostasis in the body thereby leading to the onset of various allergies, inflammation, and other associated health disorders.

Consumption of anti-inflammatory foods 

By including a wide platter of nutritious foods that have anti-inflammatory activity, the inflammation in the body can be controlled. Along with a balanced diet, adequate hydration must also be maintained with the intake of clean purified water.

Reducing stress and getting proper sleep 

Studies have shown that stress and lack of proper and good quality sleep plays a crucial role in accelerating the conditions of inflammation and other associated health disorders. Using various types of relaxation techniques which include meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga along with spending time in a natural and serene atmosphere all help in reducing stress and thus decrease the triggers of inflammation in the body. As it is extremely essential to get a night of good quality sleep, a regular sleep schedule should be implemented which is per the body’s circadian rhythm. 

Regular detoxification 

For reducing the inflammation in the body, it is beneficial to ensure that the body is detoxified regularly which helps in cleansing the body and getting rid of the built-up toxins. Some of the effective detoxification pathways involve various body systems that include the lymph, skin, kidneys, colon along respiratory system. A few techniques to ensure that these processes occur smoothly include regular intake of adequate clean drinking water, regulating bowel movements, practicing deep breathing exercises, and eliminating the body wastes in the form of sweat by doing strenuous physical activity. 

Intake of omega 3 fatty acids 

It has been clinically proven that optimal levels of omega 3 fatty acids are essential for reducing inflammation in the body thereby limiting the process of inflammation. Consumption of foods that are rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as wild-caught fish oil, seafood, walnuts, flax seeds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds. Additional levels of omega 3 fatty acids can also be improved by the regular intake of Alvizia omega 3 fish oil supplements which reduce inflammation in the body and thereby reduces the rate of aging.
