Nutrition Made Simple

Studies show that our diet constituents play a major role in structural and well as physical health and brain functioning also. Consumption of foods that boost brain activity help in improving both short term as well as long term brain function. The brain is an organ that needs energy in adequate amounts for proper functioning as well as for maintaining cognitive ability that can last all day long.

A nutrient-rich diet is essential for the brain to remain in a healthy state. Some nutritional requirements that are necessary for the smooth functioning of the brain include omega 3 fatty acids which play a major role in the production as well as repair of the damaged brain cells which can be obtained either by natural food sources or by Alvizia supplements

Another necessity for the brain is the presence of antioxidants which help in decreasing the stress and inflammation which occurs in the cells of the brain which when absent may cause various brain disorders such as neurodegenerative problems including Alzheimer’s disease as well as causes brain aging at a faster pace. A few of the scientifically proven foods that help in boosting brain function include

Oily fish

Oily fish is one of the most potent sources of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are essential for the formation of membranes that cover the cells present in the body, partially the brain cells. The main use of omega 3 fatty acids in the development of neurons are also known as the brain cells. Research shows that those individuals who have an adequate intake of omega 3 fatty acids in their diet have enhanced blood flow in the brain which improves the brain’s cognitive ability as well as the capability to think.

Studies show that the consumption of foods that are rich in omega 3 fatty acids enhance brain activity. Some of the types of oily fish that have good levels of omega 3 fatty acids in them include salmon, mackerel, tuna, herring as well as sardines. Other good sources of omega 3 fatty acids are soybeans, nuts, flaxseeds, and other types of seeds. Alvizia triple strength fish oil supplement capsules help in improving brain health.

Dark Chocolate

Also known as cocoa, dark chocolate has cacao as its main ingredient. This cacao is rich in flavonoids which are a type of antioxidant. Antioxidants are necessary for optimal brain activity as they occur high oxidative stress levels in the brain which are major contributing factors leading to a premature decline in the cognitive abilities of the brain as well as the occurrence of brain disorders.

Research shows that the intake of cacao supplies the necessary flavonoids by the brain which promotes the maturation of neurons as well as stimulates the growth of blood vessels in the brain which are essential for the proper functioning of the aspects of memory and learning. They also help in promoting the blood flow in the brain.

The main beneficial ingredient in berries is called flavonoids which are potent antioxidants that make the consumption of berries extremely healthy for improving brain activity. The main function of the antioxidants present in the berries is to decrease inflammation and to also reduce oxidative stress. Some of the antioxidants that are abundantly found in berries include anthocyanins, caffeic acid, catechin along quercetin.

The major actions of these antioxidants molecules on the brain health that are found in berries include enhancing the communication among the series of brain cells, decreasing inflammation all through the body, promoting plasticity which in turn stimulates the brain cells in the formation of various interconnections which play an important role in the positive impact on learning and improving the memory, decreasing the neurodegenerative disorders which may occur as a result of advancing age as well as cognitive impairment. Some examples of berries that provide the body with a high amount of antioxidants are strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, black currants, and mulberries.

Nuts and seeds

Studies show that adequate intake of nuts and seeds prove to be beneficial for the brain as both nuts, as well as seeds, are rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Research shows that with advancing age, there is an apparent decline in brain function whose onset can be delayed by the consumption of nuts. Vitamin E, which is a potent antioxidant, is the major ingredient in nuts and seeds which enables the body to fight back against the oxidative stress which occurs as a result of the damage caused by the free radicals.

Studies have proven that the intake of foods rich in vitamin E also plays an important role in decreasing the loss of cognitive ability and also delays the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Some examples of nuts and seeds that are very good sources of vitamin E are sunflower seeds, almonds, and hazelnuts.

Whole grains

Whole grains are also established sources of providing the body with the required amount of vitamin E. Some of the whole grains foods are brown rice, barley, bulgur wheat, oatmeal, whole grain bread, and whole-grain pasta.

Coffee is universally used for improving concentration and it helps in staying awake and for focusing. The mechanism of action of caffeine present in coffee is to inhibit the action of adenosine which is formed in the brain and its role is to induce sleep. Some of the actions of consumption of caffeine include enhanced entropy of the brain and more capacity to process information. Coffee is also an effective source of antioxidants that improve brain health by reducing the risk of developing stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and also slows the rate of cognitive impairment.

Studies show that intathe ke of avocados helps in brain function. The presence of unsaturated fats in avocados reduces blood pressure thereby lowering the risk of cognitive dysfunction. Some other sources of unsaturated fats are almonds, cashews, peanuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds, soybean, sunflower oil, canola oil, and walnuts.

Eggs are found to be excellent sources of vitamins such as vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and folic acid which play an important role in delaying the shrinking of the brain along with cognitive function.
